Jealous

A few weeks ago we picked up my niece Zoe from our family reunion to come to Moab for 2 weeks.  Everyone she told that she was coming to Moab for 2 weeks was "jealous".  This is a stop motion of her adventures here in Moab and Ouray Colorado.  Her friend Sammy Brue has a song "Jealous"so we packed her suit case and made a music video of her stay with us.

Paris to the Riveria

Just finished a short video of my pictures and some footage from my trip to Europe with some students. I broke it down to the two countries that we visited, France and Italy.  I have just completed the France portion of the trip.  Enjoy!

Mural

Here is the biggest painting that I have ever done.  This mural is for the river company World Wide River Expeditions that I have worked for in the summers.  You can see it coming into town from 191, if you pier through the tress across the field.

2014 Moab Red Devil Mountain Biking

Being an art teacher and coach allows me to do a variety of task.  Since I have a small background in graphic design, I get to design the jerseys each year for the the mountain bike team that I help coach.  Here is the preview of this year's jersey.

MOAB ROCKS

Moving to Moab gave me a different perspective of landscape.  Before I came I loved doing portraits and having to human form in my artwork.  (I still do, but it is not necessary.)  After going on many adventures and falling in love with the landscape, I decided I needed to capture those adventures in art.

I started with a color reduction linoleum cut with paper accenting certain rock features.

Being a new teacher I got busy with teaching myself how to work with silver for my jewelry class and coaching.  Oh, I can't forget buying a new house and getting married.  After a few years I was able to get back into painting.

Painting the rock features in the Moab area is like painting portraits.  Each feature is different, especially in the different seasons and lighting.  In my spare time I love doing artwork.  Whether it be the landscape, recycling bike chains into jewelry, or figuring out what new project to do with students.
